HELIX-Akantus, founded and run by the three designers Rolf Bürger, Cornelius van den Hövel and Gerhard Scherbinski-von Volkmann has mainly been involved with the design of lighting since its inception in 1989. Later the development and expansion of the Akantus collection were added, comprising high quality products/accessories for the home. One part of this multi award-winning and famous Akantus collection is produced and marketed exclusively by WMF alongside WMF specific developments.
 


All “bar utensils” of the Manhattan collection even convince professional barkeepers through their functionality and high quality of workmanship and material. The designs of the designer group Akantus also stand for a sophisticated language of forms and functional aesthetics of these products.

- 1788 Ice bucket Manhattan.  An ice bucket from WMF offers the advantage that the ice cubes are always within reach and remain constantly cool. The ice bucket is double-walled producing an insulating effect and preventing condensed water from forming on the outside wall. The colander at the base ensures that the ice cubes remain dry.
- 8396 Wine cooler Manhattan. This high-quality wine cooler is very convincing due to its double-walled material making ice-cooling units or ice superfluous. Just put the cooled wine bottle in the cooler and the wine stays nice and cool till the last drop. The matt surface of the Cromargan material is very much in trend.
