[t.a.]Engraver, painter, inventor, Karl Kasten began his prestigious career as a teacher at the California School of Fine Arts in 1941 continued in 1950 in Berkeley at the University of California. It 'been a founding member of the Bay Printmakers Society in 1968 and president of the California Society of Printmakers. It was from the sixties who was interested in the creation of new matrices for the incision, such as plastic with inserts of different material, to the creation in 1977 of "lightweight KB etching press."
