" Glass Family": the Globet Jasper Morrison
The " Glass Family" glasses (2008), the "Platebowlcup" porcelain plates (2008) and the "Knifeforkspoon" (2005) cutlery make up the comprehensive table service designed by Morrison. I can't stress enough just how well this " lower price range" service represents the " A di Alessi" contribution towards true democratic design: following the minimalist research vein that has made Jasper one of the most well-respected on the intenational scene, this offering has an airof sophisticated simplicity that perfectly represents one of the ambitions of the " A di Alessi" brand. I think it would be the case to relay some of the observations that the designer has provided us with over the last three years on these project. ".....I think it's quite important to start it off with an image of the whole set as the basic tableware service, the good ordinary one which doesn't try to upstage your cooking, but plays a perfect supporting role ". "In short, I think there's a market for a good ordinary wine glass, for unpretencious everyday wines. The glasses are in the same spirit as the dining plates, good for eating and drinking good ordinary food without any pretence that it's special.(...) In case you can't see it, the glasses have a slight curve on the sides to which is the Super element of the Normal version "
